New York City consists of Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, the island of Manhattan, and Staten Island. However, when tourist refer to New York City, most likely they refer to Manhattan. Airports: There are three major airports that surround New York City. Kennedy International Airport: is the furthest airport away from NYC. Its distance is approximately 20 miles away. Newark International Airport: is located on the west side of the island of Manhattan in the state of New Jersey its distance is approximately 12 miles away. La Guardia Airport: is located closest to NYC the distance is approximately 8 miles. All the airports have Ground Transportation Counters available to help travelers reach their destinations, by bus, car, or limo. Taxis: are located outside all terminals and are manned by taxi dispatchers to give rates for taxi fares. Rail Links: the major rail carrier that services the United States is Amtrak. Amtrak arrives and departs from Pennsylvania Station in the heart of NYC. Bus Terminal: the Port Authority Bus terminal is located on 42nd & 8th Avenue. This terminal is home to many bus lines that go throughout the United States. |

Empire State Building: located at 5th Avenue and 34th street. World-renowned landmark with spectacular day or night views. Madison Square Garden: world famous arena hosting sporting events, concerts, circuses, conferences. Located on 7th & 33rd street. Radio City Music Hall: home of the famous Christmas show featuring the Rocketts. Located on 50th street & Avenue of the Americas (AKA 6th Avenue). Jacob Javits Convention Center: where many of NYC conventions are held. Located on West 34th street & 11th Avenue. Statue of Liberty: a must see when visiting New York. The Statue of Liberty is accessible by ferry, which can be found in the Battery Park section of New York. Rockefeller Center: famous for Christmas tree lighting, ice skating rink.Located in the center of Manhattan on 49th and Avenue of the Americas (AKA 6th Avenue). Times Square: the center of New York City. The famous dropping of the ball for New Years Eve. Located on 42nd between Broadway and Seventh Avenue. Broadway: where many of the smash Broadway plays are showing. Located between 42nd and 52nd streets.
